Welcome to CSL!
What is CSL?
CSL is short for “Concord Selfie League”.
Each seasons starts at the beginning of the month and ends on the last business day of that same month. Players play the games on their own time during our regular business hours and/or events (Scores during tournament or league play can not be submitted).
Arenas can be played and scores can be submitted as many times as you like. There is no limit.
All scores submitted MUST include a photo of the score with the CSL tag visible to ensure no funny business 😊. No photo = voided score.
Please submit scores the same day you take the picture.
Scoring format – 1st Place on arena = 100 points, 2nd Place = 99 points, 3rd Place = 98 points, etc.
A final tournament will be held for the top four players at the end of the month (Saturday Night: date and time TBD).
Look for the CSL tags on the backglass!

Come have some fun and shop some art at our 4th annual Concord Open and Art Market! The Art Market is from 11am-5pm on Saturday, April 18th. Art and craft vendors will fill our parking lot, live music will fill the air, Hippy Dave's tie-dye tent will be full of color, and a 60' tent filled with pinball machines will be erected to fill you with fun. Meanwhile, inside the arcade the annual Concord Open pinball tournament will be taking place, where some of the best players on the West Coast will be battling for the title. The Art Market may end at 5pm, but for pinball fanatics, the fun is just getting started. The pinball tent will be hoppin' and the inside tournament will be raging on until Midnight. Please join us for a great time here in sunny Concord, CA

Main division will be card based. Cards are a collection of scores containing a total of 5 scores from unique machines. At any point during play or immediately after play has been completed, the player may elect to abandon their card by notifying the scorekeeper that they wish to void (note: they should be able to do this through the matchplay software). This will void all of the scores recorded on the card, and the card will not be entered into the scoring system No money will be refunded, but the player has no further obligation to complete the previously in-progress card and is free to purchase/play additional cards if they wish. Only one card may be opened at any time.
Each player’s best score on a machine will receive a point value based on its rank compared to all other recorded scores. The top score earns 200 points, second place earns 197 points, third place earns 195 points and fourth and beyond earn one less point per position, i.e. 194 points down through 1 point. Any exact ties will receive the higher point total. A player’s overall score for a card is the sum of their five ranked machine scores. Submitted cards must consist of five games (TODO: confirm this in matchplay software).
After totaling scores, the top 24 will be in the playoffs. The top 8 players will receive a bye. The next 4 players ranked outside of the IFPA top 1000 will go to B playoffs. Players with byes do not have to check in at the start of playoffs. They just need to be there when their round starts. In the event that they are not there when their round starts they will lose any game or order selection and IFPA rules regarding absences will be used once games start.
Classics qualifying will be hybrid best game format. Players are limited to 24 entries (may change based on number of games, number of entries = 4x number of games in the bank) in an effort to put up the best scores on a bank of games. The top score earns 200 points, second place earns 197 points, third place earns 195 points and fourth and beyond earn one less point per position. Each player’s top 8 scores will count out of a bank of 6 games. 2 scores will be counted on each machine. Top 24 to playoffs. Top 8 will receive a bye.
Cash only. There is no ATM on site, but some banks close by.
One card for $10. Three cards for $20. Players also have the option to buy unlimited cards for $60 (players ranked in the top 1000 must buy the unlimited option). Players are also responsible for the cost to play each game ($0.50 to $1.00 depending on the game). Unplayed entries will not be refunded. Please plan accordingly.
$20 for 24 entries (subject to change, plus coin drop).
We need volunteers to help with scorekeeping. Volunteers will receive $15 worth of entry credits for each hour volunteered. To sign up for scorekeeping, add your name to the spreadsheet for the hours you’d like to scorekeep here.
Players ranked outside of the IFPA top 1000 are eligible for the B Division in the main tournament.

Ties which are not deemed “significant” will not be broken. Significant ties are those that determine whether a player makes playoffs or whether a player receives a bye. These ties will be broken by a 1-game playoff on a random game from the bank before playoffs begin on Sunday morning. Order choice will be determined by the tiebreaking procedure for non-significant ties. All other ties will be broken by first looking at each player’s best score in qualifying. If each player has the same best score, then the second best score will be used, and so forth as necessary. If each player has the same scores in qualifying then the tie will be randomly broken.
Finals will be PAPA style groups of four. Players will play three games (main, 4-2-1-0 scoring) or four games (classics, 3-2-1-0 scoring). Any tie scores on a game will be broken by playing one additional ball on the same game for the tied players. The two players with the highest scores after these games will move on to the next round (if it’s not the final round).
Top overall seed in main will have the opportunity to swap one game from the bank with a game from classics.
The highest seed will get first choice of game or position. Selection will then proceed by seedings in the group.
We will be using matchplay software for finals and all selections will be made at the start of a round (except the final round) to avoid blocking groups for one long playing game.
Games may not be chosen more than once by the same group in a round. In the event that a tie occurs that affects who advances (or occurs in the final round) a tie-breaking game shall occur. The highest seed gets first choice of game or position. Following selections are by seed. The tie-breaking game cannot be one that has already been played by the group in the round.
In the interest of time, the TD may choose to have tiebreakers start as soon as a group finishes. In the event that another group has a tiebreaker, they may wait for another game being used as a tiebreaker game only if the player with game selection is a higher seed.
For (at least) one out of the three games, the highest seed must not select game choice. The second highest seed is guaranteed at least one opportunity for game choice. Which game number this occurs on is at the discretion of the highest seed of the group. On games one or two they may defer game selection to the second seed. If they have not deferred game choice by the third game, then they must do so.
The top seed will get game choice and position choice. For tiebreakers, a player is allowed to pick a game that was already played that round.
All entry fees minus IFPA and trophy costs will be given out in prizes. Prize amounts may be rounded
